How to make a background of the image transparent
PhotoScissors: automatic tool for beginners
Replacing the original background of an image with the transparent one is a task often arising in web design or photo retouching. There are dozens of possible cases you may need this: removing unwanted background when publishing photographs in social networks; making goods you sell online more appealing without the background; removing boring back scenes to later place a futuristic ones there.
Good news: you don't have to be a graphics genius to turn background on your images transparent. PhotoScissors will do that for you, here is how:
Step 1: Load the image to PhotoScissors
Step 2: Select background and foreground
PhotoScissors makes background pixels transparent automatically, but first it needs to know what parts of the image are background and which are foreground. Select the Green marker tool on the toolbar and mark areas of the image that should stay. You don't have to paint the entire foreground object, a few strokes is usually enough.
Then, select the Red marker tool and mark the background areas the same way.
Good job. And as you see, PhotoScissors also knows its job. In fact, as you paint with the markers, the tool turns the background of that image transparent in real time. The preview window displays the result.
Step 3: Make final polishing
Depending on the complexity of picture and objects on it, you may need to make a few additional red and green strokes here and there. Make sure to select a smaller marker size for precise adjustments.
It is done! Now, just save the image as PNG to preserve the transparency of the background and use the image wherever you want.
